A very warm welcome to a new term.
All staff and committee at Rainbow hope you had a very enjoyable summer.
Welcome back to our 2nd year children and a special mention to all the new starters and families joining us.
Please remember due to our children with extreme allergies, we do not allow any sweets, chocolate covered biscuits or cakes, chocolate pancakes, anything containing nuts and eggs and if you are packing grapes or large berries they should be cut into quarters as they present a choking hazard if left whole.
The Weather has been very changeable, could we please ask that all childern bring a named/ labelled waterproof coat, wellies (to leave here) and spare clothes, even if the day starts off sunny and warm. We aim to play outside in all weather and hope to arrange visits to the park.

This is a great fundraising opportunity for Rainbow, as well as an excuse for you to have an Autumn clean.
Any items of clothing that you are looking to get rid of can be bagged up
and brought to school on Thursday 27th November before 9am.
They will be collected, and Rainbow will receive a payment which will go straight back into the school. Unfortunately, we cannot accept bedding, curtains and towels

Do you work for a large corporate company?
Mum’s, Dad’s and Grandparents, if you work for a large company there is a good chance your firm offers matched
funding/giving. This is a huge fundraising opportunity for us with minimum effort from you.
Please let us know if your company offers this. We can provide email templates, letters and any support needed.

Another way to help with fundraising is by downloading the app called Easyfundraising.
You can use the app for on line everyday shopping and in doing so will give free donations to Rainbow!
The app has lots of different shops from your weekly shop at Asda to booking holidays, Ebay and John Lewis.
When downloading, make sure you choose the correct Pre-School search for Rainbow Pre-School - Wickford
We are running an afterschool club from
3pm till 3.30pm
This is going very well.
The children are enjoying
our afterschool activities.
If you would like your child to join our
afterschool club at Rainbow Pre-school.
We are charging £4.00
to cover our staff costings.
Please let Auntie Donna or one of the Office Staff know.
As you may be aware the Pre School has a Parent Committee
who volunteer their time to organise various fundraising
events and activities throughout the year alongside the
Aunties.
We want to stress the importance of the Committee and
introduce you to the Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
The Committtee are responsible for the management of the
Pre School and all associated liabilities. All decisions on the
operations of the setting are the responsibility of the
Committee. The Committee can delegate the implementation
of some decisions to staff, but will still retain their
responsibiilty.
As a constituted (Committee run) setting which is registered
with the Charity Commision, we have charitable status and
must abide by Charity Law and our Constiution. Our
Consitution is the set of rules by which we operate as a
charity. The Constitution must be re-adopted annually at the
Annual General Meeting.
Should the Committee not contain enough parent volunteers,
then the Pre School would close. The Committee has to have
a Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and at least 2 other members.
Bethanie Henderson is the Chair
Briony Shaw is the Treasurer
Claire Henderson is the Secretary
If you would like to become a member of the committee or
take on one of the roles, please let the current Chair
(Bethanie) or Secretary (Claire) know.
As the Pre-School is a registered charity we rely on fundraising
to help give your children a great experience and provide them
with excellent resources and equipment.

Could we please ask that families share a photo of their families and extended families (Nan, Grandad, Aunties and Uncles). A photo of the outside of your home, and photos of places in Wickford you like to visit and any hobbies (Park, Swimming pool etc)
This is to create a folder of all the families that attend Rainbow Pre-school. This helps new starters to settle and to give all our children a sense of belonging to an extended family.
Invoices are emailed to you individually each month!
Please can we remind everyone that the due date at the bottom of your invoice is not flexible. Should you have any issues with paying, please talk to us.
Invoices are due one month in advance and this is clearly detailed in our Information Booklet, which everyone is issued at the start. If you do not pay your child will not be allowed to attend the setting.
Invoices are sent by e-mail once a month. Please remember to check your e-mails regularly. If you have not received emails from us, then please speak to us to check your contact details are correct. Paper copies will only be provided on request
Cake Sale – Week Commencing 29th September we will be selling cakes along- side our Autumn Disco Tickets
Autumn Disco – Friday 10th October
Christmas Fete – Saturday 29th November 11am-2pm
We would be very grateful for donations of unopened and unwanted gifts, toys, books and teddy bears. Please bring these items into the school as soon as you can.
Also, donations of cakes to be brought to the bazaar on the day.
We are running the Christmas market alongside our bazaar. If you have a small business or know anybody who would be interested in hiring a pitch at our event, please speak to any of the committee member.
Welcome to all our families!
The new children are all settling in so well, you should be very proud of them.
All new children have been allocated a key person who you should have been introduced to.
Please remember to dress your children in old clothing for pre-school and supply spare clothes/shoes/wellies, we encourage children to be independent in putting on aprons for painting, and playing with sand and water, we can get very messy.
A gentle reminder!
Can I remind all parents to please label everything that belongs to their child, to prevent them going home with someone else’s belongings.
Thank you, to all our families for your continued Support!
